Sabbath

Sabbath is the seventh day of the week and a day of rest. Sabbath is observed from sundown Friday night until sundown Saturday night.

Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Exo 31:15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
Exo 31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

In Rome, the emperor Constantine’s mother changed the Sabbath. Her way was to let the Church be the Church and the Jew be the Jew. From this, Rome decided that there would be a “Christian Sabbath” and that sabbath was going to be different from the “Jewish Sabbath”. This was done because Constantine’s mother did not want anything that would make the church look like the Jews, which she hated and despised. So the fact of it is, Sunday became the Christian Sabbath. Now, I am going to ask you this question, did it make it alright with God that Constantine’s mother decided that she was going to pass the law that the church was going to have a Sunday Sabbath?

There are blessings found within the Sabbath.

Here’s what the Word says:

Isa 56:1 Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
Isa 56:2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

Sabbath is a holy day and it is the day appointed by God himself, not man. A day to look forward to at the end of the week to spend with family and the Father.
